Double strollers are, by nature, pretty big contraptions. They can take up whole sidewalks without even trying, and many of them don’t fit through standard doorways. While a jumbo double stroller might be great for hauling all your accessories around, it’s no good if it can’t go everywhere you need it to. The best compact double strollers give you room enough for your kids and essentials, without impeding your maneuverability.
Below, you’ll find our reviews and recommendations of the best compact, lightweight strollers for two kids. We’ve had our resident expert on all things kids and baby, Jenny L. Brown, round up all her space-saving favorites and explain why her picks are better than the competition.

Best Compact Double Stroller Reviews
Evenflo Minno Twin Double Stroller
“The Evenflo Minno is an excellent little double stroller for families who don’t want to/can’t afford to spend much money on their new set of wheels. It’s a fraction of the price of my other picks in this category but is still convenient and practical. You can fit it through any doorway and the folding mechanism is just like an umbrella stroller. I especially like how many conveniences there are on the Minno compared to other budget doubles! It’s refreshingly sturdy, too. If you just need to get around town and won’t be on walking paths or dealing with car seats, this is a great value buy.”
Baby Jogger 2016 City Mini GT Double Stroller
“The Baby Jogger City Mini GT is a versatile choice for parents who want something they can use with car seats. It’s also a better everyday stroller than the Evenflo, thanks to its all-terrain wheels and suspension system. Even though this isn’t a jogging stroller, despite what you’d expect from the name, it’s a lot better on walking paths and bumpy spots than the Evenflo. It doesn’t add much weight or width for all its extra features and you can use it as a travel system if you buy the right car seat adapters. I think it’s the best bet for the average parent who wants something compact & high-quality without spending a whole lot more on the UPPAbaby VISTA. One heads-up: there are some car seats which won’t work with the Baby Jogger, so do double check before you buy to make sure yours will work.” “UPPAbaby’s VISTA stroller is one of my absolute favorites, ever. It’s simply a wonderful design that offers you a world of versatility and convenience. I know that most parents won’t want to spend this much on a stroller, but if you can afford to, I think you’ll find that it’s worth the money for how much easier it makes your life. Just about the only thing it won’t do is work with car seats. Aside from that, you can use it as a single stroller, or as a tandem double in a number of configurations. Even with two kids onboard, it feels like a single stroller to maneuver and go through doorways, which is a lifesaver around town. Other pedestrians will also love you for using this one, since you don’t have to take up the whole sidewalk just to push two kids along! The UPPAbaby comes with a toddler seat, a bassinet, and a second rumbleseat, which means you can use it for practically any set of kids you might have. It’s by far the most space-efficient design I’ve come across for two kids and the execution is perfect!” Which of these compact double strollers should you buy for you and your kids? The Evenflo Minno is the obvious choice if you’re shopping on a tight budget, or just need something simple for getting around town. It’s compact, light, and quite convenient for something so inexpensive. The handling isn’t as good as the City Mini GT, though, and it’s not as space-efficient as the premium UPPAbaby. Having said that, it’s the best compact double stroller we’ve found under $500. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT is the best side-by-side choice for everyday use, since it handles bumps and walking paths better than the Minno. It’s also the best compact double stroller for folks who want a travel system–neither of our other recommendations will work with car seats. Finally, if you want the ultimate in space-efficiency and can afford to pay for it, the UPPAbaby VISTA is our absolute favorite compact double stroller on the market. It costs twice as much as the Baby Jogger and is one of the most expensive setups we recommend in any category, but it’s a fantastic piece of design and execution! It handles like a single stroller but easily fits two kids in a range of configurations. Everything about it is premium and thought-through. Don’t plan on finding one for less than $1K, though. If you need to know the best compact double stroller from all of our picks, we would have to suggest the Evenflo Minno Twin Double Stroller thanks to its affordability and ease of use. Now that you’ve taken a look at all our compact favorites for transporting two kids, we hope you’ve got at least one model in mind that seems like a good fit for your family.
