Best Pubic Hair Removal Cream
Depilatory creams are one of the best methods of removing unwanted body hair. They’re simple, convenient, and very thorough when used properly. The problem is, many of them are too aggressive to be used safely on pubic hair. The best pubic hair removal creams are as gentle as they are powerful. But which ones are they?

We’ve asked our resident beauty expert, Alice McLaughlin, to recommend a few depilatory creams that are suitable for removing pubic hair. She’s come up with a few products that are ideal for sensitive areas where you want to remove all the hair without any burns or discomfort.

Best Pubic Hair Removal Cream – Our Expert Reviews

Veet Gel Hair Removal Cream, Sensitive Formula[/easyazon_link]

Alice’s Take Alice
Veet’s Gel product is a great value option for anywhere on your body. It’s the least expensive solution I recommend for use around the pubic region. Anything else around this price is simply too painful or ineffective to be any good.

The best thing about the Veet product, compared to other affordable depilatories, is the fact that it combines hair removing ingredients with some nourishment for your skin. The last thing you want to do is leave your pubic area all raw and damaged, so the aloe and Vitamin E in this gel is super welcome.

Why might you want to spend more? The Veet product is specifically for sensitive skin, and that’s great for being gentle around your delicate areas. The downside is that it’s not quite as aggressive as some other products. The Nair product below is a more assertive choice. It’ll remove hair more quickly and may be necessary for ladies with super tenacious pubes. However, I think it’s probably a bit sting-y for the average person.

Nair Hair Removal Lotion, Aloe & Lanolin

Alice’s Take Alice
This Nair product is a stronger alternative for folks who need a little more help getting rid of their pubic hair. It’s more powerful than the Veet, but still contains enough soothing ingredients to make using it in your sensitive regions safe. It has plenty of aloe for moisture, just like the Veet. Also like the Veet, the Nair will work absolutely anywhere on your body (just don’t leave it on your face for too long!

Nair products in general are fairly powerful, and this one is no exception. It works in about half the time it takes the Veet to do the job. Of course, the trade-off is that some women might find the Nair product a bit too aggressive. That’s why I suggest trying the Veet gel first, and then the Nair if you haven’t had good results with the gentler option.

While this is a powerful product, though, it’s not magic. Some women simply have tough, wiry pubes that are impossible to remove with depilatory creams. In that case, shaving is usually the best alternative. So, if you end up trying the Nair and can’t get the hair to come off after the maximum 10 minutes, don’t leave it on longer! You’ll risk burning your skin. Just go back to shaving.

Buying Guide

Keep It Gentle But Effective

Gentle but effective is the name of the game for any depilatory product, but getting the balance right is especially important when it comes to dealing with pubic hair. Pubic hair is a particular challenge because it’s so wiry and requires a stronger product to deal with it. At the same time, it grows out of some of the most sensitive skin on your body, so you can’t use anything too industrial. Our suggestion is to get a strong body hair removal cream that includes a lot of nourishing ingredients as well as the depilatory chemicals. That way, you can remove hair effectively without ravaging sensitive skin.

Don’t Use Facial Products

One idea a lot of women think is clever is to use a facial depilatory product on pubic zones. It makes sense on paper, since facial products are already designed to be less aggressive and more nourishing than most body creams. The problem is, they’re also far weaker than body creams. They don’t remove thick, wiry pubic hair very effectively. As a result, you have to leave them on longer than they’re meant to be used in order to get anywhere. It’s a recipe for disaster. So, stick to body products rather than facial formulas. Just opt for the gentle version!

Don’t Expect Miracles

As mentioned above, there are some women for whom depilatory creams simply aren’t a practical method of removing pubic hair. These aren’t miracle potions, and if they don’t work after you’ve left them on for 10 minutes, they’re not going to work period. So, do give our recommendations a try. They’re convenient and comfortable to use. If they don’t work, though, you’ll want to think about another method for maintaining unwanted hair in your nether regions.

So, we need to choose just one product as the best pubic hair removal cream, and though it’s tough, we’ve decided to award that honor to the Veet Gel Hair Removal Cream, Sensitive Formula thanks to its nourishing formula.
